Salary up to £35,000 with pension, life assurance, 33 days holiday (including bank holidays), exclusive company discounts on used car purchases, and aftersales services
At Lithia UK, we’re on an exciting journey to modernise and elevate how we support our people – and our move to Workday is a big part of that. We’re now looking for a Senior Payroll Administrator to join our People Services team and help us ensure our team members across the UK are paid accurately, on time, and with exceptional service.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced payroll professional to step into a leadership role, helping to lead a team of administrators and supporting the Assistant Payroll Manager.
Your Journey as a Senior Payroll Administrator:
- Leading and supporting a team of Payroll Administrators with the day-to-day running of a high-volume monthly payroll
- Reviewing and overseeing the completion of daily payroll tasks to ensure compliance with internal deadlines and statutory requirements
- Handling complex payroll queries and offering expert guidance to both your team and the wider business
- Preparing BACS and third-party reconciliations for approval, and transmitting payrolls through the BACS system
- Ensuring payroll processes are fully documented, up to date, and in line with best practice and legislative changes
- Managing the overpayments process and overseeing HMRC reconciliation and submissions
- Producing accurate data reports, payroll statistics and insight for senior stakeholders
- Playing an active role in continuous improvement – reviewing and enhancing current processes to drive efficiency and accuracy
Are You Ready to Embrace the Challenge? We’re looking for someone who has:
- At least 3 years of payroll experience, ideally with time spent in a senior-level position supporting team development and process improvement
- Proven experience running complex, high-volume payrolls and leading small teams
- Proven track record of managing complex, high-volume payrolls with accuracy, while successfully leading and mentoring a small team to deliver results
- Hands-on experience with Workday payroll systems with the confidence to navigate and optimize this platform in a fast-paced payroll environment
- Confident using Microsoft Office, especially Excel – with a sharp eye for detail and the ability to produce clear, accurate reports that support decision-making across the business
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment where every day is different – able to juggle multiple priorities with confidence, stay calm under pressure, and deliver accurate results on time, every time
