The main purpose of the Parts Leader / Manager role is to maintain a satisfactory parts service to our internal and external customers whilst maintaining the highest level of customer service at all times. The role will involve leading the department to maximise profitability and achieve business plan targets through seeking opportunities to sell the maximum amount of parts to trade and retail customers, and to actively maintain/ achieve an acceptable market share. This role will require a degree of creative thinking, with the ability to organise sales promotions and identify and purchase more profitable lines in line with the budget available.
Duties of a Parts Leader / Manager:
- To monitor all overheads and stock values to ensure that the budget is managed and controlled.
- To ensure the sale of all necessary items to support customer requirements.
- Review parts sales on a daily basis to monitor departmental performance and ensure planned gross profit is achieved, taking corrective action as appropriate.
- Control all parts purchases to ensure that maximum buying efficiency is achieved and is in line with company policy and franchise agreements.
- Control levels of parts stock, providing availability of parts to meet customer expectations, whilst maintaining parts obsolescence at minimum levels.
- Agree and establish clear individual targets for departmental team members to ensure everyone is clear about their responsibilities and development opportunities
