We’re looking for a highly capable and results-driven Internal Auditor to join our dynamic Internal Audit team at Lithia UK. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about risk management, governance, and driving improvements across financial and operational processes. You’ll play a key role in evaluating and enhancing our internal controls and compliance frameworks—helping to ensure we stay aligned with our strategic goals while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
Reporting into the Internal Audit Manager, you’ll deliver independent, objective assurance that adds real value to the business. You’ll apply a systematic and disciplined approach to assess and strengthen the effectiveness of our risk management, controls, and governance processes. This role offers the chance to contribute to our evolving audit strategy, including assurance mapping and the use of data-led audit techniques, while also supporting the development of others in the team.
Your Journey as an Internal Auditor:
- Lead and deliver a range of risk-based audits from the annual plan, focusing on high-impact areas across central functions and end-to-end processes throughout the Group
- Produce clear, insightful audit reports that get to the root causes of issues provide business solutions that contribute to the development of technology-based assurance solutions, including KPIs, Data Mining solutions and continuous auditing
- Play a proactive role in shaping our internal audit strategy, supporting the development of the annual audit plan and coaching team members to continually raise the bar
- Support the Group’s Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance efforts, ensuring control design and operating effectiveness are maintained to the highest standard
- Assist with whistleblowing and fraud investigations, as well as tracking and managing key information and trends to strengthen organisational integrity
Are You Ready to Embrace the Challenge? We’re looking for someone who:
- Professionally qualified (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA, IIA) with significant Internal Audit experience
- Experience working in a Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) environment is desirable, but not essential
- A valid UK driving licence is required due to occasional travel
- A collaborative team player who’s passionate about sharing knowledge, coaching others, and contributing to a high-performing audit function
- Solid commercial and financial acumen, with experience reviewing a wide range of processes—financial, operational, commercial, and IT
- A risk-focused mindset, able to look beyond compliance and identify key threats and opportunities across the business
- Ability to review financial /commercial /operational /IT processes
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the confidence to influence and build relationships at all levels
- Sharp report writing skills with a clear, concise style that brings findings to life and drives real impact
- Resilience, confidence, and sound professional judgement—you’re comfortable presenting your views and navigating challenging conversations
